Curtain Call Theatre proudly announces the cast and performance schedule for ‘Love Letters’, A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize–nominated play that explores a lifetime of friendship, romance, missed opportunities, and the power of written words. Directed by Matt Carey, this intimate theatrical event will feature six local actors, each bringing their own unique chemistry and interpretation to the characters of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner.
‘Love Letters’ is a deeply moving story told entirely through a lifetime of correspondence — notes, postcards, and letters exchanged over more than 50 years. As Andrew and Melissa navigate childhood, ambition, success, heartbreak, and personal transformation, their relationship unfolds in a way that is as funny as it is achingly human.
In a unique twist on a cast list, director Carey has chosen to cast three pairs of actors and spread their performances out across the run of the show.
Couple 1: Cristy Nordstrom-Griffiths & Adam Griffiths
Cristy and Adam will be performing on Wednesday, February 11, and Saturday, February 14 — both at 7:30 PM.
Couple 2: Jean Berard & Rusty Steiger
Jean and Rusty will be performing on Friday, February 13 at 7:30 PM, and on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 PM.
Couple 3: Marie Goulet & David Bruce
Marie and David will be performing on Thursday, February 12 at 7:30 PM, and on Saturday, February 14 at 2:00 PM.
Whether shared with someone special for Valentine’s week or enjoyed solo, this production is an unforgettable opportunity to experience the beauty, tenderness, and complexity of human connection. With each couple bringing their own dynamic interpretation to the story, audiences are encouraged to attend more than one performance for a truly layered understanding of the play.
