MOKENA, IL — Timing is everything, and for four nights only, Curtain Call Theatre is proving just how hilarious perfect (and imperfect) timing can be! Join the theatre for ‘All In The Timing’, a wildly witty collection of one-act comedies by David Ives that will leave audiences in stitches—and possibly questioning the very nature of existence. There will be just one weekend of performances, April 10–13.

This mind-bending evening includes six brilliantly absurd pieces: Sure Thing, where a first date gets infinite do-overs (because who doesn’t wish for that?); Words, Words, Words, which dares to ask what happens when three monkeys and a typewriter collide; and The Universal Language, in which a con artist’s gibberish lessons lead to an unexpected romance. Also in the lineup: Foreplay: Or the Art of the Fugue, in which three versions of a man, each older but no wiser, relive the same miniature golf date—until the game finally outplays him; The Philadelphia, where ordering a sandwich becomes a metaphysical crisis; and Variations on the Death of Leon Trotsky, a play that proves getting hit in the head with an axe doesn’t mean you can’t still deliver a rousing monologue.

“Whether you love wordplay, philosophy, or just enjoy watching historical figures repeatedly meet their demise, this show has something for you,” said director, Ken Czechanski. “This group of actors has been working tirelessly to bring this level of comedy to the stage, and I can’t wait for audiences to enjoy it.”
