Donate For Pets, Get Produce At NAWS Farmers Market Fundraiser

The second annual Farmers Market Fundraiser is scheduled to be held Aug. 27 at Resale for Rescues in Mokena.

MOKENA, IL — Help pets and get some freshly grown local produce. That's the theme of NAWS second annual Farmers Market Fundraiser, scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 27 at Resale for Rescues, 11134 Front St. in Mokena.

The produce is being donated by local gardeners, according to Resale for Rescues staff. NAWS is asking those who attend the Farmers Market Fundraiser for donations in any amount in return for the produce.

All donations will go toward the pets in the NAWS Pet Rescue Program.

Some of NAWS' adoptable pets will also be at the fundraiser, staff said.

Any local gardeners who would like to donate produce for the Farmers Market Fundraiser can do so by dropping the produce off in person between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, or before 8:30 a.m. Aug. 27.

NAWS is a 501(c)3 animal welfare organization, the mission of which is to end pet homelessness, suffering and unnecessary pet euthanasia, to serve pets in need, and to promote treating all animals with respect and dignity.
