Farm & Barn Fest In Mokena To Return Aug. 13

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Community Park District's Farm & Barn Fest is scheduled to return Aug. 13 at Yunker Farm, 10824 W. LaPorte Road in Mokena.

The day is scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. with an outdoor flea market. Shoppers are admitted free to the flea market. Vendor registration is $30 for residents, $35 for nonresidents. Registration deadline is Aug. 6. To register as a vendor, visit mokenapark.com.

Parking will be available at The Oaks Recreation & Fitness Center, 10847 W. LaPorte Road, and at Main Park, 10925 W. LaPorte Road. The Yunker Farm parking lot will be closed for the duration of the outdoor flea market, but is expected to reopen at 1 p.m.

Next up will be fun for the whole family with kids' activities from noon to 5 p.m. Highlights will include games and activities, horse rides, a petting zoo, entertainment, and contests. A $20 wristband is required for most kids activities. Some activities have a fee.

Additionally, the Splash Pad will be open from noon to 5:30 p.m.

As the evening starts to cool down, the music will heat up with live performances at the Yunker Farm Bandshell scheduled by MacKenzie O'Brien from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Rockstar Rodeo from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Food, beverages and beer will be available for purchase all day and evening. Children are allowed at the concert with parental supervision.
