Fire Burns Through Empty Mokena Home
A fire charred the inside of a home on Front Street Saturday afternoon.
An empty home on Front Street was charred in a Saturday afternoon fire.
The received the call at about 12:30 p.m. and responded to the home on the 11300 block of Front Street. The home is not currently occupied.
It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the flames, said Lieutenant Todd Newton. There were no injuries.

The interior of the small home was badly charred and most of the windows had been broken during the response. Invesitgations are still underway to determine the exact cause of the blaze, Newton said.
