Free Events At Forest Preserve District In Mokena
Gaming in the Forest, LEGO Gone Wild and Food Truck Friday are all scheduled to take place this week.
MOKENA, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Will County announced several upcoming events this week at Hickory Creek Preserve - LaPorte Access, east of Wolf Road in Mokena.
First is Gaming in the Forest: Pokémon from 2-6 p.m. Aug. 8. The District is inviting people to experience nature with a game of Pokémon. There will be a fire and s'mores for those taking a break from the action. The registration deadline for this free event is Aug. 8.
Next is LEGO Gone Wild in the Hickory Hollow Shelter from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 13. The event is free and is for all ages. A Forest Preserve District naturalist will lead attendees using binoculars, bug boxes, insect nets and more to discover how people, nature and LEGOs fit together. Those interested in attending can register online on the District's website, or call 708-534-8499. Registration deadline is Aug. 13.

Lastly is the return of Food Truck Friday from 5-7:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Vendors for the event include Life's a Slice, The Dock and Cream-Crunch-n-More.
