Halloween 2022: Mokena Sets Trick Or Treat Hours For Village
Trick-or-treaters will be out and about scaring up treats from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the spookiest day of the year: Monday, Oct. 31.
MOKENA, IL — Halloween is just a few days away, and that means little ghouls and goblins abound in Mokena. The Village of Mokena has set the trick-or-treating hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, so there will be plenty of time for collecting candy during both daylight and nighttime hours.
The Village has made available on its website "No Tricks-Or-Treats" signs that residents who choose not to participate in trick-or-treating. Residents can download the signs via this link.
And while you're out and about getting treats and playing tricks, be sure to check out the Scarecrow Invasion, sponsored by the Mokena Chamber of Commerce. Scarecrows will be set up throughout Mokena at various businesses. The chamber is offering an interactive map for residents to go out and view the displays for themselves.

Parents should keep the following tips in mind to ensure everyone stays safe and has a spooky good time:
- A responsible adult should accompany young children.
- If your older children are going alone, plan and review a route acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time children should return home.
- Teach your children never to enter a stranger's home or car.
- Instruct children to travel only in familiar, well-lit areas and stick with their friends.
- Tell your children not to eat any treats until they return home, and take care to avoid any food allergies.
- Children and adults are reminded to put electronic devices down, keep heads up and walk, don't run, across the street.
