Halloween Hollow In Mokena To Feature Carnival, Monster Market, More
The three-day event hosted by the Mokena Community Park District will run from Friday Oct. 7 through Sunday Oct. 9 at Yunker Park.
MOKENA, IL — Halloween Hollow in Mokena is set to return for its 40th year beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. The weekend-long event is hosted by the Mokena Community Park District and will be held at Yunker Park, 10824 W. LaPorte Road.
Some of the highlights for this year's Halloween Hollow include a carnival, costume contest, free live music, an outdoor market, children's activities and food trucks, according to Mokena Community Park District Superintendent of Recreation Kara Jelderks.
"It's a great family event with activities for people of all ages," Jelderks said.

Food trucks will be provided by Genoa Italian Concession, Serna's Grill and R.S. Concessions. Each will have food available for purchase from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, and from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Making a special appearance this year will be Michael Myers of the "Halloween" movies, Jelderks said. He'll be handing out awards for the costume contest, set to take place at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Here's a look at what else is happening and when during Halloween Hollow.
Friday
- Windy City Carnival: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wristbands for unlimited rides for the evening are $35.
- Musical Entertainment: At the Yunker Park Bandshell. The Stingrays will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Kovacs and Company from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Food concessions and beer sales: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday
- Windy City Carnival: Noon to 4 p.m. (unlimited rides wristbands for this time block are $30); 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (unlimited rides wristbands for this time block are $35)
- Kids Games and Activities: Noon to 5 p.m. $20 wristband is required for most kids activities.
- Monster Market: Noon to 5 p.m. Will be held at The Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center, across from Yunker Park.
- Musical Entertainment: At the Yunker Park Bandshell. The Fortunate Sons will perform from 6p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Infinity from 8p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Food concessions and beer sales: Noon to 10 p.m.
Sunday
- Windy City Carnival: Designated time for those with special needs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; general admission from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (unlimited rides wristbands for this time block are $30)
