Last Chance to Donate a Quart for a Pint
Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church is holding a blood drive on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. For every quart of blood drawn, those donating will receive a voucher for a free pint of ice cream from Oberweis.
Get ready for orange juice and cookies! is hosting a summer blood drive on Sunday, Aug. 12. The blood drive, which will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be conducted by Heartland Blood Centers.
According to Heartland's website, all people who donate a pint of blood will receive a coupon for a free quart of Oberweis ice cream as part of the group's Pint-for-a-quart program.
To donate blood, donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a parent's signed permission, weigh at least 110 pounds, be symptom-free of all colds, flus and allergies, and be in general good health, according to the Heartland website.
