Man, 76, Thought Car Was In Reverse Before Crashing Into Building: PD

An elderly driver crashed into the front of a pizza place in Mokena Saturday.

MOKENA, IL — No one was injured and no citations issued after a car crashed into a Mokena pizza place Saturday evening.

Police said they believe age was a factor when the driver, a 76-year-old man, believed his car to be in reverse, when it was in drive, Mokena Police Chief Brian Benton said. The car crashed into the storefront of Nancy's Pizza, 19803 LaGrange Road, Sunday just before 7 p.m.

The driver was not cited or charged, due to the crash being on private property and no injuries reported, Benton said.
