Robert R. Schumacher, 35, of the 6300 block of Kimberly Drive, Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 and improper lane use, according to a report.

Police stopped Schumacher at about 9:54 p.m. in the 19800 block of South LaGrange Road after seeing his SUV accelerate rapidly and weave in its lane, according to the report. He told police he had four craft beers at a local bar. He performed field sobriety tests, after which he was arrested. During the arrest, he asked if he could call his “state trooper buddy” but was denied. Police said he continued to be belligerent and told officers that “cops are ‘D’ students." Schumacher also took a breath test after initially refusing.
