MOKENA, IL — Mokena police helped arrest a man who had fled on foot after being pulled over by an Illinois State Police trooper on Interstate 80, according to an ISP news release.

Police said the man, Melvin D. Lenoir, 47, of Harvey was pulled over about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday for speeding and fled when the state trooper tried to arrest him. Lenoir then entered a nearby residence, where he was confronted by the homeowner and fled again, police said.

About 1:48 a.m., almost three hours after the initial traffic stop, a Mokena police officer reported seeing Lenoir in a parking lot near 191st Street and LaGrange Road and arrested him. Lenoir was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
