Mokena PTA's 'School's Out' Color Run/Walk Set To Send Off Year

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena PTA is set to host the 2nd Annual School's Out Color Run/Walk, planned for May 29.

There are a variety of ways for all ages to participate in the fun, family-friendly event. The course is approximately 5K (3.2 miles) that has multiple loops, in addition to a kids' dash and sensory dash. Participants can walk/run as much of the course as they would like. This race is not chip timed and everyone receives a medal.

The event will be held at Main Park, 10925 LaPorte Rd., from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 29.

Registration fees are:

• Color Run Sensory Dash: $10
• Color Run/Walk (14 and over): $15
• Color Run/Walk (Students 3rd grade and under): $12
• Kids' Dash: $10

The evening schedule includes:

• 5:45 p.m.: Sensory Friendly Dash (color packets available to throw on yourself!)
• 5:50 p.m.: Kid's Dash (7 and under)
• 6 p.m.: 5k Color Run/Walk (students 3rd grade and younger must register with an adult participant). Participants can walk/run as much of the course as they want.
• 6 to 9 p.m.: Post Run Party, Food Vendors and DJ-bring a lawn chair.

The money raised will support the enhancement of academic resources in District 159 K through 8th grade schools.
