Mokena Road Improvements On the Horizon
A mild winter and increased revenues will allow the village to move forward with improvement plans.

Village officials agreed to improve 4.25 miles of road during an April 8 meeting, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Front Street, between Wolf Road and Schoolhouse Road and the Marilyn Estates subdivision are included in the improvement plans. In addition to road resurfacing, many streets will see new curbs as well as gutter and sidewalk repairs.
The decision comes after a mild winter and increased village revenues helped to offset heavy costs associated with routine work, such as road maintenance, snow removal and traffic signal upkeep.
