Outdoor Watering Restrictions In Mokena Lifted: Village

MOKENA, IL — Mokena residents concerned about the health of their lawns can go back to their regular schedules beginning Tuesday, as the Village has lifted the restrictions that had been in place since June 22.

The Village notified residents that they can resume watering lawns from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Even-numbered homes are permitted to water on even-numbered days, and odd-numbered homes on odd numbered days.

The previous restrictions had prohibited watering in the evening.

The restrictions were put in place because of high temperatures and a lack of rain in the forecast, according to the Village.
