Oversized Equipment To Use Wauponsee Glacial Trail Near Rivals Park

Oversized equipment will be using the Wauponsee Glacial Trail for short durations later this month and into early November.

The trail will not be closed, but spotters will be on site to warn trail users about the equipment and signs will be posted.

The activity is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 29, near Rivals Lookout Park in Wilmington. The equipment will enter the trail near Ritchie Grain Elevator and exit just before South Rivals Road. Brieser Construction will be using the trail to transport piping and matting for an Exxon Mobil pipeline project in the area.

It will take an estimated two to three days to get the equipment to the job site and the work is expected to last at least a week. Then it will take another few days to get the equipment back out of the job site using the trail.

The timeline could be affected by weather and other factors and updates will be posted here as necessary.
