Repairs Could Lead to Upgrades for Veterans Memorial
Damage to the New Lenox monument should be fixed by Memorial Day.
Damage to the New Lenox veterans memorial that was vandalized last year should be repaired by Memorial Day, and those repairs could include improvements, according to a Daily Southtown report.
A flagpole, plaque, sculpture and a sound system playing ”Taps” as the sun sets might be added to the memorial, the report stated.
The memorial was damaged last September. Brian Sundstrom, 26, of Bourbonnais, was arrested in October and charged with felony criminal damage to government property in connection to the vandalism.
