Scarecrow Invasion Begins At Mokena Businesses

MOKENA, IL — People around Mokena might have noticed some creative — and sometimes spooky — displays popping up around businesses in town. Those are part of the Mokena Chamber of Commerce's 2022 Business Scarecrow Contest.

The contest is open to any Mokena business, whether or not it is a member of the chamber, according to information from the Mokena Chamber of Commerce.

Businesses can place the scarecrow displays outdoors or inside and send a photo to the chamber. Those photos will be put on the chamber's Facebook page for users to vote by "liking" them. The chamber will tally up the votes through Oct. 24, and the winner gets a prize.

The chamber will also offer an interactive map for residents to go out and view the displays for themselves.
