Tiptoe Through The Tulips On Mokena Garden Walk
Mokena Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second Garden Walk July 17.

MOKENA, IL — Summer day: Check. Lovely gardens: Check. Artisans and beverages: Check and check. Mokena Chamber of Commerce's second Garden Walk is set for a day of strolling through some of the finest foliage Mokena has to offer, and community members are invited to come along for the view July 17.
The idea for the Garden Walk sprung last year during the height of the pandemic, said Mokena Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mellisa Fedora. Lori Fleischer, wife of Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer, came up with the idea as a way to get residents out in a safe, open environment and still adhere to Centers fo Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, Fedora said.
This year, the Garden Walk will have stops at eight Mokena resident's gardens, with artisans selling their wares and beverage stations scattered throughout the walk, Fedora said. Those wishing to join in the walk will meet at 10 a.m. at the Mokena Chamber of Commerce office, located at 11104 Front Street Suite 1B in Mokena, where walkers — or drivers — will receive a wristband, a goodie bag, and a booklet with a map and descriptions of the stops. The Garden Walk is scheduled to run until 4 p.m.
