Use Caution As Repair Work Takes Place On Spring Creek Greenway Trail
Gravel has been placed in washout areas and potholes to fill in low spots on the trail section located in Messenger Marsh.
Path users should use caution on the Spring Creek Greenway Trail as repairs continue on the crushed limestone path in the coming weeks.
Larger "road mix" gravel has been placed in washout areas and potholes to fill in low spots on the trail section located in Messenger Marsh Preserve. Smaller crushed limestone will be placed on top and the repaired trails will then be rolled for a smooth finish.

In the meantime, trail users should use caution as they navigate the areas with larger rock by slowing down or picking alternate trails for their outdoor excursions.
Similar work has taken place this year on the I&M Canal Trail from 135th Street in Romeoville south to Second Street in Lockport and the Wauponsee Glacial Trail from south of Hoff Road to South Arsenal Road south of Manhattan.
