MOKENA, IL — Mike Lief, a Mokena native with five years of experience in the Village’s Public Works Department, was promoted earlier this month to the position of Wastewater Plant and Water Operator.

Lief is advance filling the position that will be vacated when incumbent Michael Orr fully assumes the duties of Wastewater and Water System Lab Technician in connection with the upcoming retirement of long-time Lab Technician Sherri Goravica.

His first experience in the Public Works Department having been as a part-time seasonal worker, Lief has since been employed full-time as a Meter Reader, and most recently as a Maintenance Worker I.

He has successfully passed the Class C Public Water Supply Operator Certification Test and holds a Class D operator license.
