Volunteers Needed For Mokena Village Clean-up Event

The cleanup event is set for Saturday, April 6. Volunteers will work on several locations throughout Mokena.

MOKENA, IL — The Village of Mokena’s Annual Clean-Up Day has been scheduled for Saturday, April 6, and volunteers are needed to help out.

Clean-up activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, and and lunch will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at Village Hall.

Everyone is invited to assist in the clean-up. Meet at Village Hall, located at 11004 Carpenter Street, shortly before 9 a.m., and don't forget your work gloves. Volunteers will be transported to areas in the community by Mokena Public Works crews.

The Village will also be planting trees in honor of Arbor Day and Tree City USA.

At noon, all volunteers are transported back to Village Hall for a free lunch. The cleanup event is sponsored by the Village of Mokena Community Affairs Commission.
