Whalon Lake Open During Royce Road Closure

The preserve will remain open while the City of Naperville has closed a section of Royce Road to remove shrubbery.

The Forest Preserve District's Whalon Lake preserve will remain open while the City of Naperville has closed a section of Royce Road to remove shrubbery from the sides of the street.

Those who want to access the preserve should follow the city's detour signs and turn south on Lisson Road to gain access to the preserve entrance. The preserve entrance is on the south side of Royce Road, directly south of Lisson Road. Westbound traffic should turn left on Lisson and eastbound traffic should turn right.

Royce Road will remain closed from Trillium Lane to Keim Road until the work is completed, which is expected by the end of this month, according to city officials.

Information on the detour is available from Naperville City Dispatch, which is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The number is 630.420.6187.
