Car Mirror Broken During Domestic Incident: Montgomery Police

Driving under the influence (DUI)

The Montgomery Police Department said officers stopped Maria G. Sandoval, 34, of the 1000 block of Camden Lane, Aurora, at 9:24 p.m. Sunday when they observed lane violations, and saw she was driving westbound in the 500 block of Montgomery Road with a flat tire. After stopping Sandoval, police observed a strong odor of an alcoholic-based beverage coming from her while she spoke to officers, before she failed field sobriety tests, MPD said. According to police, the woman was to MPD in police custody where she was issued citations for improper lane usage, DUI and DUI over .08. Sandoval was released with a court date in Kane County, police said.

Dec. 15

Domestic Disturbance

Montgomery police said officers responded to the area of Webster Street and Railroad Street for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, police said they were told by the victim that her boyfriend, 19-year-old Erick A. Garcia, of the 800 block of Lake Street, Aurora, had broken the mirror on her car. Police said the victim also advised that the offender had left the scene. Officers located Garcia a short distance away before he ran from officers, MPD said, adding that after brief chase, officers were able to catch and arrest Garcia. He was charged with criminal damage to property and obstructing justice. Garcia was released on a signature bond, with a future court date in Aurora.

Aggravated driving while license revoked

Montgomery police said officers stopped the car driven by Bobby W. Tennison, 43, of the 2400 block of Charismatic Lane, Montgomery, after running his registration plates and learning that his license was revoked. The traffic stop took place at Route 30 and 31, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said Tennison was placed into custody and taken to MPD where officials learned he had two previous convictions for driving on a revoked license. Tennison was charged with a felony for aggravated driving while license revoked, and was sent to Kane County for bond call, police said.

Dec. 14

Armed Robbery

Montgomery police said officers responded to the 1300 Block of Kingston Ave. at 8:47 a.m. Friday, where a victim told police he was the victim of an armed robbery in the area of Montgomery Road and Bangs. The victim advised that an unknown black male had offered to give him a ride home after seeing him walking on Montgomery Road, police said. While on the way to the victim's home, the suspect took out a handgun and pointed it at the victim demanding he give him his money, police said. The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and exited the vehicle. The suspect vehicle is described as a red car, police said, adding that the incident is under investigation.

Warrant Arrest

MPD Officers responded to the 2000 Block Orchard Road at 12:18 p.m. Friday to assist another police agency in reference to an unrelated incident, police said. When officers arrived, they located Cheney R. Wackerlin, 42, of the 300 block of Spring Street. Police said a background check of Wackerlin's name revealed he had an active warrant out of Kane County for Larceny. Wackerlin was placed under arrest and transported to Kendall County to await pickup by Kane County, police said.
