Deadline Nearing To Apply For Property Tax Rebate

Rebates for $45 will be mailed out by the end of April to residents who qualify, but you have to submit an application by December 17.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Officials announced in September that the village was preparing to issue property tax rebates to residents thanks to a successful sales tax referendum passed all the way back in 2012. If you haven't applied for your $45 rebate, you have until December 17 to submit an application.

Officials said that any money owed to the village for back taxes, water or other bills must be paid and current in order to qualify for the rebate. Only homeowners who pay property taxes in the Village of Montgomery can receive the rebate. It doesn't apply to residents of Boulder Hill or other unincorporated areas.
