Donations are urgently needed for Montgomery children whose parents cannot afford to buy them Christmas gifts. There are 500 more names given to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program compared to last year, according to a Village of Montgomery statement.

The public is asked to donate unwrapped toys through Dec. 12 at the village hall and police department. Toys will be distributed through the Marine Corps Reserves program, Toys for Tots.
