Hydrant Flushing to Start Next Week

Village crews will flush water mains - see the schedule below - and they recommend not doing laundry while flushing is happening in your neighborhood.

’s  staff plans to flush water mains, both in the village and in Boulder Hill, this month. The idea is to clear sediment from the water lines, and make sure the hydrants are working properly.

The water may be discolored during this process, which means if you do your laundry while they’re flushing the mains in your neighborhood, it might get stained. So village staff is recommending you check the schedule and refrain from washing clothes during the week public works crews will be in your area. Residents should also run their cold water taps first to clean out any sediment that may enter the water lines inside the homes.

Public Works crews will flush hydrants from approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily according to the following schedule:

Week of Sept. 10

  • Areas east of Orchard Road to Hill Avenue (includes Parkview Estates) and north of Route 30 (Seasons Ridge) up to Ashland Avenue.

Week of Sept. 17

  • In unincorporated Boulder Hill, South of Route 30 to Circle Drive West and from Route 25 to Douglas Road; within the Village of Montgomery, Lakewood Creek West, Fairfield Way and Foxmoor.

Week of Sept. 24

  • Subdivisions west of Orchard Road to Dickson Road and from Galena Road to Jericho Road, including: Montgomery Crossings, Lakewood Creek, Blackberry Crossing, Blackberry Crossing West, Huntington Chase, Balmorea, Orchard Prairie North, and Saratoga Springs.
