'Lucky' Cat Survives Long Car Ride Home Near the Engine
Lucky the cat will be looking for a new home soon.
Oswego resident Kim Schlapp Currer heard a little meow outside her home. And then again. And again.
She and her family finally traced the noise to the engine of their minivan.
“We popped the hood and there was a very scared and lucky little baby kitten who braved the 2 hour ride home, held on tight for her life, stayed all night tucked away and managed to survive,” said Currer.

The family had been visiting Currer’s parents who about two hours form Oswego on a farm. Lucky, as the kitten is being called, has a minor burn from her travels.
Little Lucky is currently with a foster home but will be looking for a real home in about four weeks. Those interested in adopting her can call 630-340-3718.

“If you know of anyone looking for a kitten... I can't think of a better one to have,” said Currer.
