​Montgomery Announces TV Recycling Event: June 3

Recycle your TVs, electronics and paint on June 3.

MONTGOMERY, IL - The Village of Montgomery recently announced a partnership with area recycling companies on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. until noon in front of the Police Department at 10 Civic Center Avenue.

According to the Village of Montgomery notice:

The event will accept TVs, electronics and paint. But there will be a $35 per unit fee to drop off TVs or computer monitors for recycling that are larger than 21”; under 21” the fee is $25 per unit. Payment must be made by cash or credit card only; prepayment is encouraged and can be done online at http://recycle.eworksesi.org/.

Just bring your printed receipt to the event. There will also be fees for paint drop-off of $3.50 per gallon of latex paint or $10.00 per gallon for oil based paint or stain.

You can also drop off home office electronics (computers, printers, etc.) and other small appliances (microwaves, toaster, etc.) at the recycling event to help keep these items out of landfills. There is no charge for these items, only for the TVs, computer monitors and the paint. This event is in addition to the monthly recycling event held on the third Saturday of each month. The main purpose of this extra event is to provide an option to recycle old CRT or console TVs and get rid of old paint. The regular monthly recycling event on June 17th will still take place as scheduled.

Please note that this recycling event will not accept metal, disposable batteries, large appliances, hazardous materials, car fluids or tires. For complete information on items that will be accepted, please visit the Village’s website at www.ci.montgomgery.il.us.
