MONTGOMERY, IL — A Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant will open in a Montgomery shopping plaza in the spring of 2024, a village spokeswoman confirmed to Patch on Monday.

Cooper’s Hawk has the Montgomery location listed as “Opening Soon” on its website and has listed several employment opportunities listed on its website. The winery and restaurant, which has multiple locations around the Chicago suburbs, will be located in the Ogden Hill shopping plaza at the intersection of Route 30 and Route 34.

The spokesperson confirmed the spring opening, but did not provide more details about a specific opening date after conferring with Cooper’s Hawk officials.

Montgomery Village officials approved a request for Cooper’s Hawk’s liquor license, as well as a special permit for outdoor dining. In June, the village board also approved a 15-year, economic incentive agreement that is worth up to $750,000.

Under the deal, the village will receive $600,000 in sales tax revenues from Cooper’s Hawk’s over the 15-year period of the agreement, based on the company's sales tax revenues projections.

Cooper’s Hawk announced plans to open the new location in Montgomery with a wine bar and dining space that will include nearly 10,000 square feet of space, which includes a 719-square-foot outdoor dining space.

Company officials told the village board earlier this year that it expects its investment in the village to be around $8 million and the business will generate annual sales of $7 million to $8 million while creating 150 full-time and part-time jobs, Shaw Media previously reported.

As of now, Cooper’s Hawk has job listings for its Montgomery location including a kitchen manager, office administrator, executive kitchen manager and general manager.

The restaurant characterizes itself as “Modern Casual Dining” with warm hospitality in an inviting upscale setting. The restaurant said its culinary team has designed a contemporary American menu infused with flavors from around the world. Each dish is made fresh in our scratch kitchen, incorporating peak-of-season ingredients, and listed with a bin number to guide you to your selection’s perfect wine match.
