Montgomery Man Fatally Shot Wife: State's Attorney
The Kane County State's Attorney's Office charged the man, 46, with two counts of first-degree murder after he shot his wife Monday morning.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A 46-year-old Montgomery man is facing first-degree murder charges after officials said he fired a fatal shot at his wife on Halloween.
Montgomery police responded to the residence in the 1300 block of Oak Ridge Drive just after noon Monday when they found an unresponsive person, identified as Yajaira Gordon, suffering from a gunshot wound. In an update Thursday, officials said Timothy Gordon shot his wife once in the head, killing her.
Officers arrested a man in downtown Hinsdale Monday afternoon in relation to the shooting, but it's unclear if it was Gordon. Police did not respond to Patch's request for comment at the time of publication.

Along with first-degree murder, Gordon is also facing the following charges:
- Two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a felony
- Possession of a firearm without a FOID, a felony
- Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/no FOID, a felony
- Domestic battery, a misdemeanor
- Aggravated assault, a misdemeanor

Gordon appeared in Kane County bond court Wednesday where his bail was set for $3 million, with 10 percent to apply. His initial court appearance is set for Dec. 1 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
The Montgomery man is currently being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center, records show.
The Halloween shooting was the third slaying in just over a month in Montgomery. On Oct. 21, a person was found dead in the driveway of a residence in the 1200 block of Lebanon Street. The cause of death was an apparent gunshot wound, and police treated the case as a homicide investigation.
In a similar circumstance, a 42-year-old man was found dead, also from an apparent gunshot wound, on Sept. 19 in the 1100 block of Reading Drive, Patch reported.
