Montgomery Man In Possession Of Child Pornography Arrested: Sheriff

The 23-year-old was released from the Kendall County jail after posting the set $10,000 bail.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A Montgomery man found in possession of child pornography was arrested Aug. 5 after an 8-month investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, officials announced.

On Dec. 9, 2022, detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting an online user, alleged to be 23-year-old John Bloodworth, was in possession of child pornography.

Following an investigation, the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office charged the man, of the 0-100 block of Shermead Road, with two counts of possession of child pornography. Bloodworth was taken into custody Aug. 5 on a warrant that was issued three days prior, officials said.

Bloodworth was taken to the Kendall County jail but subsequently released after he posted the $10,000 bail — 10 percent of the $100,000 bond set by a judge.

His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Officials encourage the public to report crimes against children, including using anonymous tips, which can be submitted through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
