Montgomery's Own Baseball Team Takes Second at Tourney

Mustangs "continue to overcome obstacles and go down a path of success."

The Montgomery Mustangs are the sole baseball team representing the city of Montgomery.

We are only in our second year of existence and we continue to overcome obstacles and go down a path of success.

If you remember us from last year, we are the team that worked with the city of Montgomery to uncover our own field of dreams. This field was at McDole Elementary School in Montgomery.

This year, we had to relocate to a different field to accommodate the longer bases and a longer pitchers mound. We were able to obtain a field at the Sugar Grove Sports Complex. We have worked very hard to keep our program alive and continue to have success.

Last weekend the team traveled out to Rock Island for the Mother's Day Clash tournament and out of 12 teams we made the finals but ended up taking 2nd place. This is great accomplishment for a team that didn't even exist three years ago.
