Montgomery Woman Makes Name For Herself Through Custom Gifts

Growing up, Crystal White knew the difficulty of having an unusual first name when it came to finding monogrammed items.

“I could never find it anywhere,” the Montgomery resident said.

These days, through her business Personal Creations by Crystal, she is able to personalize, mostly with embroidery, children’s play capes, blankets, beach totes and aprons for those with even the most unusual names.

“There are so many names and you can’t always find your name out there,” White said.

She started her business about a year ago. “I just keep growing with more products in my line,” she said. “It’s been going really well.”

One of White’s most popular items is her custom name frames.

“People know me from them,” she said. “I try to focus on unique gifts for different occasions.”

Typically with the name frames, White will have the family’s last name in large print, and the family members names repeated in small print the background.

She also makes mini capes for children’s stuffed animals and dolls.

Moms are often drawn to White’s personalized sippy cup bands.

“Everywhere you go with kids everyone has a sippy cup. When I have one with my kid’s name on it I don’t have to worry about losing mine,” White said.

Her background in interior design lends itself well to her creations.

“I’ve always been into arts and crafts and making things and sewing,” White said. “It’s a hobby of mine that grew into this business.”
