Pets on a Train: Who's On Board With Bringing Fido on the Metra?

The Metra board nixed Friday a 3-month trial letting passengers ride with small pets in order to research the idea. What do you think?

Metra board members said no last week to a three-month trial that would have allowed passengers to travel with small pets on certain routes, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

But the the doggy door hasn’t completely closed on that idea. The board wants to research the plan more before giving a final yay or nay, the report stated.

The trial proposal would have let passengers on the Rock Island Line to bring small pets on weekends, the report stated. The animals would need to be in carriers that could be held on customers’ laps or placed under their seats, the report added. The CTA currently lets passengers ride with pets in this fashion, according to the report.
