Naperville Ranks 3rd Most Affordable Safe City In America: Website

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville recently made it onto SmartAsset's 2023 selection of the Safest Cities in America. The western suburb was also ranked third among SmartAsset's safe cities in terms of affordability.

Naperville came in at #14 on overall on the safest cities roundup, which weighed such factors as:

• Rates of violent crimes
• Property crimes
• Mortalities in traffic crashes
• Drug overdose deaths
• Percentage of residents who drink excessively

Naperville's ranking of the third most affordable safe city was determined by studying housing costs and median income for residents. About Naperville, SmartAsset wrote,

"Median annual housing costs in Naperville are 17.57% of the median household income, making this Chicago suburb one of the most affordable safe cities in America. Naperville ranks 14th overall for safety, thanks in large part to a property crime rate that’s the lowest in our study (320 for every 100,000 residents)."
