New Development For Eagle Crest Plaza Weighed In Naperville: Report
Officials in Naperville recently voted to move forward on a proposal to redevelop Eagle Crest Plaza with a Heinen's Grocery Store to anchor.
NAPERVILLE, IL — The plaza that once housed Butera in Naperville may soon have new life breathed into it. Naperville council members recently voted in favor of weighing a proposal that would bring a Heinen's Grocery Store to Eagle Crest Plaza, Daily Herald reports.
The development would involve creating a new business district for the property's Olesen Drive and East Chicago Avenue location. The district would include an increased sales tax on purchases made at the plaza, effective for 23 years.
If the development is approved, revenue from the increase in sales tax would help Heinen's raise the shopping plaza and install water storage to prevent flooding. Daily Herald reports that this process would cost approximately $2 million.
