This Suburb Among Most Affordable, Safest Cities For Families Of 4: Study
One Chicago suburb ranked among the top 10 safest and most affordable places for a family of four, according to GOBankingRates.
ILLINOIS — GOBankingRates recently unveiled its roundup of the 50 Safest, Most Affordable Cities For A Family of Four, with one Chicago suburb landing in the top 10. Naperville came in at #4 in the study, conducted by the personal finance website.
To determine the most affordable and safest cities for its list, GoBankingRates, evaluated 50 cities that have a population of 100,000 or more. The study weighed such factors as median household income, cost of living, average home value and crime rates.
Naperville's stats were as follows, per GoBankingRate's analytics and sources.

- Median Household Income: $150,937
- Average Value of Single-Family Home: $610,296
- Average Cost of Living Annually: $79,991
- Property Crime Rate per 1000 residents: 8.58
- Violent Crime Rates per 1000 residents: 0.64
- Savings Remaining After Cost of Living: $70,946
Three other Illinois Cities were also ranked in GoBankingRate's study. Elgin came in at #11, Aurora landed the #17 spot, and Joliet came in at #19.
