Free Children's Event Brings Books To Life

NEW LENOX, IL — Sometimes when one reads a book, the characters almost come time life in one's mind. Sometimes. But at Kiddie Academy of New Lenox, characters from children's books will leap off the page and become part of the storytelling experience.

Kiddie Academy is scheduled to host Storytime LIVE!, a free event for children and families, from 10 a.m.-noon July 17 at its facility located at 674 Cedar Crossings Drive in New Lenox.

Making an appearance in the flesh — er, fur — will be Pete the Cat, said Kiddie Academy Center Director Ashley Reinike. Three stories from the popular children's character will be chosen to read, and open tours of Kiddie Academy will be available, Reinike said.
