Lincoln Way Wrestling Club Earns IKWF Dual Team State Championship

NEW LENOX, IL — The Lincoln Way Wrestling Club from New Lenox celebrated the IKWF Dual Meet State Championship on top, as they captured the title/

The 2024 IKWF Dual State Meet on Jan. 29 included 12 teams from different regions of Illinois.

Lincoln Way Wrestling Club triumphed over Southern Illinois Bulls WC in the first round 42-41, dominated against Cory Clark 60-22 and overcame Demolition Wrestling Club with a hard-fought 42-37.

"From the very beginning, it was a team effort from the top to the bottom," said LWWC Varsity Head Coach Jeff Harvey. "The boys worked hard earning every point that helped secure the Dual State Championship title."

Lincoln Way Wrestling Club advanced to the finals, where they clinched victory in a nail-biter against Bolingbrook Jr. Raiders with a final score to earn the Dual Team State Championship 37-34.

"I can’t say enough about this amazing group of boys and coaches. This is the reason we all put countless hours into this amazing sport," said LWWC Varsity Coach Ross Drew.

Lincoln Way Wrestling Club includes players from New Lenox, Lockport, Manhattan, Frankfort, Elwood, Tinley Park, Coal City, Shorewood, and Joliet.
