LW West Football Playoffs: Warriors Get Bison In First Round
Lincoln-Way West will play Buffalo Grove at 7 p.m. Saturday.
NEW LENOX, IL — The regular season is over, and the Lincoln-Way West High School Warriors football team starts it run for a Class 7A championship at 7 p.m. Saturday against Buffalo Grove High School.
The Warriors will be on the road in Buffalo Grove. Lincoln-Way West finished the season 5-4 overall but finished 5-0 in conference play, according to maxpreps.com. Buffalo Grove finished the season 8-1 overall and 4-1 in its conference, according to MaxPreps.
The Warriors are heading into the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, according to MaxPreps. The Griffins currently hold the No. 18 ranking in Class 7A and the No. 97 overall ranking in the state, according to MaxPreps.

The Warriors tallied wins against Bradley-Bourbonnais, Stagg, Lincoln-Way Central, Andrew and Homewood-Flossmoor; the team's four losses came against Hersey, Oswego East, Bolingbrook and Lockport, according to MaxPreps.
The winner of the Lincoln-Way West/Buffalo Grove game will play the winner of the Prospect/Shepard game.

The Warriors have never won a Class 7A championships, but the team did finish second in Class 5A in the 2015-16 season, according to IHSA.
