Man Wanted In New Lenox Carjacking Arrested In Dolton: Police
Devante Davis, wanted for hijacking and robbery charges, was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

NEW LENOX, IL — A man wanted by the New Lenox Police Department in connection with a carjacking and robbery charges was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshal's Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office.
Devante Davis, a 27-year-old man from Chicago, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. in Dolton by Will County deputies acting as part of the task force. Davis faces numerous charges, including aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery and aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, according to authorities.
Police watched a house believed to be where Davis was located and saw a stolen car tied to Davis nearby. Several people got out of the car and went into the house. When police approached the house, two men came outside and fled when they saw law enforcement.

Police arrested Davis and six others found inside the house. Authorities recovered purses, car keys and other items believed to be involved in burglaries along with a loaded Glock pistol and a rifle, police said.
Davis was taken to Cook County Jail to face charges stemming from evidence found during his arrest. After the Cook County case is resolved, Davis will be brought to Will County to face those charges, police said.

Davis was one of six people authorities say had stolen several cars and led police on a car chase through New Lenox, near Interstate 355 and Interstate 80, in March. In the process of the car chase, the six suspects carjacked a New Lenox woman, police said.
Police later found the carjacked SUV in Markham, with the suspects fleeing the area.
Elijah Castle, 22, of Chicago Heights and Narquis Thomas, 21, of Chicago are already in custody. A fourth person in custody is a minor, and police are still attempting to identify the other two people involved.
The six people involved in the New Lenox carjacking are also accused of robbing car dealerships in Schaumburg, Springfield, Lincoln, Bloomington, Peoria and Manchester, Missouri, according to police.
