National Beer Day: Where To Grab A Pint From Breweries In The LW Area

Thursday is National Beer Day. Here are some local breweries where residents in the Lincoln-Way area celebrate.

NEW LENOX, IL — Three cheers for beer! Thursday in National Beer Day, the day that celebrates the repeal of Prohibition via President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's signing of the Cullen-Harrison act, according to the website National Today.

Prohibition lasted from 1920 to 1933, according to Britannica. Although alcoholic beverages were illegal during that time, it didn't stop many Americans from seeking out their preferred poison in speakeasies, where mobsters and home brewers alike supplied the thirsty public with bootleg booze.

But those days are long over. And to help celebrate, Patch has put together a list of local watering holes in the Lincoln-Way area where residents can go and hoist a pint, whether its a crafted lager, ale, or stout, or something in between.
