New Lenox Elite Youth Football Team Wins Thanksgiving Bowl Title
The team made up of eighth graders from the Jr. Knights and Jr. Warriors.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Elite football team from the New Lenox Youth Football Association celebrated a national championship win recently, as they captured the title for the Thanksgiving Bowl National Championship 2023.
Rocky Top Sports World hosted the 51st annual Thanksgiving Bowl National Championship, a Gatlinburg tradition since 1972. The New Lenox Elite team, which included 21 local eighth graders from both the Jr. Knights and Jr. Warriors secured a 30-6 championship win over the Stanley Blue Devils from North Carolina.
Going undefeated in the tournament, the New Lenox Elite team also defeated Holy Cross from Louisiana with a 42-6 win and the Oak Lawn Outlaws from Illinois with a 38-6 win.

"We are proud of these boys for the determination they showed, hard work and dedication," said New Lenox Elite Head Coach Rick Splant. "This group is well prepared to launch their high school football career and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them."
