PHOTOS: L-W Central Sends 2 Wrestlers To Individual State Finals
Lincoln-Way Central had two qualifiers at IHSA individual state finals at State Farm Center in Champaign Feb. 20–22.
NEW LENOX, IL — Lincoln-Way Central sent two wrestlers to IHSA individual state finals in Champaign Feb. 20–22, with both falling just short of the podium.
Representing L-W Central in Class 3A were Jadon Zimmer at 138 pounds, and Jalen Byrd at 165, said Coach Tyrone Byrd.
Zimmer went 2-2 in the 138 lbs. bracket, making it to the “Blood Round”/ top 8. Zimmer finished the year with a 44-10 record.

Byrd went 2-2 at 165 lbs., also making it to the “Blood Round” and top 8. He finished the season with a record of 45-8.
"Both boys competed well and just missed the podium," Byrd said.
