Splash Pads In New Lenox Scheduled To Open In Early June

NEW LENOX, IL — The unofficial start to summer is just a week away, and that means splash pads in New Lenox are close to opening.

The New Lenox Community Park District has two splash pad locations: Walker Country Estates Park, 299 Lenox St., and Hibernia Park, at Eagle Circle and Blarney Road.

The splash pad at Walker Country Estates will be open daily, weather permitting from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 4 through Aug. 14. The splash pads are turned on when the temperature reaches 74 degrees.

The splash pad at Hibernia Park is open:

• Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 4 through Aug. 28.
• Mondays through Thursdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 through Aug. 11.
• Fridays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 3 through Aug. 12.

Admission is $3 per person for New Lenox residents under the age of 21; non-residents are $5. There is no cost of admission for parents or guardians over the age of 21.

Family passes are also available to New Lenox residents only for $75. Family passes can be used at both splash pad locations.

Groups of eight or more must call ahead at least one week in advance to check availability and reserve their group outing. The group rate is $5 per person and is only for New Lenox residents. Those interested in booking a group outing should call (815) 485-3584.

A parent or guardian must accompany children inside the splash pads. Photo ID is required to show proof of residency. Alcohol, food, beverages and coolers are not permitted at the splash pads, but concessions are available for purchase.
