Walmart Employee, 65, Secretly Marked Down Prices, Bought Stuff For Cheaper: NLPD
A Mokena man and Walmart employee is alleged to have price-switched items for several months before being taken into custody.

NEW LENOX, IL — A Mokena man and Walmart employee has been charged with retail theft, after police said he secretly marked down prices and bought goods at the discounted rates.
New Lenox police were called to Walmart on Aug. 25 for a report of theft involving an employee. A loss prevention associate at the store told police they had been investigating an employee for price-switching, according to police reports.
Richard Kruckmeyer, 65, of Mokena, is alleged to have lowered prices on items he then purchased, costing the store $1,700, according to police.

The price-switching took place from April 2025 to August 2025, according to reports.
Kruckmeyer was taken to the New Lenox Police Department, where he was processed and released.
