Where To Eat On Valentine's Day In New Lenox: Readers Respond

NEW LENOX, IL — Valentine's Day is here, but that doesn't mean you have to venture outside of New Lenox to find a romantic spot to take your sweetie. We recently asked New Lenox Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite restaurants to take a date on Valentine's Day.

According to readers, the top restaurants for Valentine's Day in New Lenox are Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Gatto's Italian Restaurant & Bar and JBD White Horse Inn.

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant

One reader recommended the braised short rib risotto, while another said you can't go wrong with either the filet medallions or chicken madeira.

Another reader wrote, "Every time my husband and I go to Cooper's Hawk, we share a fabulous meal and bottle of wine together. Great times together."

Gatto's Italian Restaurant & Bar

Some of the recommended dishes at Gatto's included tortellini Alfredo, chicken Francese, calamari and the chicken vesuvio.

One reader wrote, "During our first visit, Frank told us 'if you don't see anything on the menu just tell me what you would like and I'll make it.'"

• New Lenox Commons. Great spot to walk, sit by the garden area and have great entertainment during special venues to enjoy on the lawn.
• I love just walking around our part of town with my family and the dogs.
• Hibernia Park is a wonderful place to bring the family to have fun fishing, playing,
  or just relaxing.
• The canteen in the NL VFW. That's where we first meet.
• The bowling alley. For $20 I can bowl, eat pizza, and hope for "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights." (RIP Meatloaf)
