Winter Baseball Camp Registration Open At LW West
The three-day camp will focus on offensive and defensive skills, as well as pitching and catching.
NEW LENOX, IL — Registration is now open for Lincoln-Way West High School's Winter Baseball Camp, to be held Dec. 20-22 at the Lincoln-Way West Field House.
The camp is open to any child in first through eighth grade, according to a news release from Lincoln-Way West. The three-day camp will consist of both offensive and defensive skills, and pitching and catching.
Here's a breakdown of days, times and activities:

Grades 1-4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; grades 5-8 from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
- Day 1: Large-group teaching stations on fundamentals of hitting and throwing; small-group practice stations hitting and competitions.
- Day 2: Large-group teaching stations on bunting, base running, and fielding skills; small-group practice stations focusing on specifics of hitting, including individual and video evaluations.
- Day 3: Small-group practice stations focusing on completion of hitting drills and personal evaluations; competitions utilizing skills learned.
Pitching & Catching Camp
Grades 1-8 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Players will be divided into groups by grade levels for this camp. These camps are at the same time but are separate from each other.
- Day 1: Throwing mechanics (pitchers and catchers); Pitchers - Wind-up and stretch mechanics; LWW pitching/catching philosophy and program
- Day 2: Discussion and breakdown of various pitching drills used in our program. Pitchers – Live throwing and personal evaluation using video analysis; Catchers – Blocking, footwork drills, and personal evaluations
- Day 3: Pitchers – Live throwing and personal evaluation using video analysis; Catchers – Blocking, situational throwing drills, personal evaluations, catching bullpens.
*Catchers please bring your own gear if you have it.
