Coronavirus: Northbrook Fire Collecting Masks, Cleaning Supplies
Northbrook Fire Station 11 will be serving as an interim dropoff spot
NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Fire Station 11, 740 Dundee Road, is collecting personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies and other provisions for area hospitals to help combat the spread of coronavirus. The station will be acting as a temporary drop-off location until hospitals can find an official drop spot, according to Northbrook fire officials.
The station will be accepting N95 masks, surgical masks and FDA-approved masks for hospitals, as well as hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies such as bleach wipes and alcohol wipes. These supplies can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the administrative entrance vestibule at the back of the building.
Dave Crawford, deputy chief of operations for the Northbrook Fire Department, said the collection efforts initially began with school districts but branched out to park districts and libraries. Northbrook and Glenview also have partnered together to provide coronavirus preparedness information, he added.
